GETTING STARTED

Six steps from an account to a running Windows machine with a dedicated GPU. Start-up takes minutes, and you only need your own device and a steady connection.

[ NOTES ]

  1. 1 The rate listed per size is the base hourly rate before region or bandwidth multipliers; the create form totals the exact rate for your configuration before you launch.
  2. 2 Credit delivery (1 hour) and the 14-day refund window are the figures that also appear in the Terms of Service — this page cannot read differently from that contract.
  3. 3 15 minutes is typical, not guaranteed — first boots and image updates can run longer, and that time is billed like the rest of the session.
  4. 4 gputax does not supply, license, sublicense or pre-install Parsec or Moonlight; either is obtained directly from its own maker, under its own terms.
  5. 5 Disk persists between sessions; it is removed only if you delete the machine, or under account termination per the Terms of Service.
  6. 6 Worked example: a 1 h 22 min 10 s session bills 83 min on its own, or 84 min if an hourly cron deduction lands mid-session — each side of the cut rounds up independently.

Step 1 · Size and region

Choose your GPU1

Pick a GPU size and the region closest to you. Each size lists its VRAM, vCPUs, RAM and from-rate.

  • 5 GPU sizes in 16 regions
  • A region near you keeps latency low
  • Disk from 100 GB to 500 GB
[ GPU sizes ]From / hr
  • Tesla T4 Lite16 GB · 4 vCPU€0.65/hr
  • Tesla T416 GB · 8 vCPU€0.94/hr
  • L424 GB · 8 vCPU€1.20/hr
  • A10G24 GB · 8 vCPU€1.52/hr
  • L4 Pro24 GB · 16 vCPU€1.80/hr

REF 02//PREPAID WALLET//VISA · MASTERCARD//CREDIT WITHIN 1 hour

Step 2 · Prepaid wallet

Add credit2

Top up your wallet by card. There is no subscription: machine usage is deducted from the balance.

  • Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards
  • Credit is added within 1 hour of payment
  • Unused credit is refundable within 14 days of the top-up

Creating or starting a machine requires a balance that covers at least 3 hours at that machine's hourly rate. This is a check, not a charge: only metered usage is deducted.

REF 03//RATE SHOWN FIRST//READY ~15 MIN//BILLED FROM START

Step 3 · Launch the machine

Create and start3

Name the machine, pick the operating system, disk and upload bandwidth, and create it. The form shows the exact hourly rate first. Start-up takes a few minutes; a machine is usually ready within 15 minutes of being started.

  • Windows Server 2022, or Windows 10 with your own licence
  • The hourly rate is shown before you create
  • Start-up time is billed, like the rest of the session

REF 04//IP + PASSWORD SHOWN//RDP BUILT-IN//THIRD-PARTY OPTIONAL

Step 4 · Remote access

Connect4

When the machine is running, its page shows the IP address and password. Connect with Remote Desktop, or install a third-party client such as Parsec or Moonlight yourself.

  • Remote Desktop works with the IP and password
  • Parsec and Moonlight are optional compatible third-party applications
  • Obtain and use third-party software under its own applicable terms and licence

  • Remote DesktopWorks out of the box
  • ParsecOptional third-party
  • MoonlightOptional third-party

REF 05//ADMIN ACCESS//DISK 100–500 GB//PERSISTS WHILE STOPPED

Step 5 · A full Windows desktop

Install your apps5

You have administrator access, so install game stores, creative tools or your own software, just like on a local PC.

  • Games from Steam, Epic Games, GOG or any other store
  • Creative and AI software such as Blender or DaVinci Resolve
  • Your files stay on the disk while the machine is stopped
[ Disk ]100–500 GB
Game stores3D and renderingVideo editingAI and MLYour own tools

The first 100 GB of disk is included in the hourly rate. Each additional GB adds €0.002 per hour to that rate, and disk is not charged while the machine is stopped.

REF 06//METERED PER MINUTE//CHARGED AT LEAST HOURLY//FINAL CHARGE ON STOP

Step 6 · Pay for what you use

Stop when you are done6

Charges accrue from when a machine is started, including start-up time and any wait for capacity, until it is stopped. Stop the machine from its page when you finish, and start it again whenever you need it.

  • Prices are displayed as hourly rates, but usage is metered by the minute: each deduction rounds the time since the previous one up to a whole minute.
  • Stopped machines keep their disk and settings
  • Delete the machine when you no longer need its files
[ Metering example ]Rounded up per deduction
Session length1 h 22 min 10 s
Minutes charged83 min

Metered usage is deducted from the wallet balance while the machine runs, normally once an hour, and when it is stopped.

FIELD NOTES//3 TIPS

[ FIELD NOTES — GET MORE FROM A SESSION ]

01

Choose a nearby region

A region close to you gives the lowest latency, which makes games and the desktop feel more responsive.

02

Use a wired connection

An ethernet cable instead of WiFi reduces jitter and keeps latency steady.

03

Stop when not in use

A running machine is charged until it is stopped, whether you are using it or not. Nothing is charged while it is stopped, and its disk keeps your files.
